Patrick Mahomes | EV

Mahomes is the favorite to win the MVP title; the Chiefs’ star quarterback has dominated opposing defenses, unlike any other quarterback we’ve seen in recent history.

Not the least that Mahomes has already led the Chiefs to two crazy comeback victories to make it to the Super Bowl if Kansas City wins, he’s practically a lock for the MVP.

If you’re looking for the safe bet, then Mahomes is your man; but, keep reading to see other likely candidates.

Jimmy Garoppolo | +250

Jimmy G doesn’t get much credit for San Francisco’s success this season, but he’s put strung together a better season than what many folks think.

Besides, if the 49ers do win, then its quarterback will probably receive a lot of the credit. Of the 54 MVP awards that have been given out, 29 have gone to the winning QB.

Garoppolo hasn’t seen much action in the postseason; in fact, he threw just eight passes in the NFC Championship game. But, the pass-heavy Chiefs might make it necessary for Garoppolo to bust out the big guns.

Raheem Mostert | +500

Star 49ers’ running back, Raheem Mostert, is getting love in the race to win the MVP award after his performance in the NFC Championship game.

Mostert not only ran for 220 yards and four touchdowns in the conference championship game but also had a big part in getting the 49ers’ to the Super Bowl.

Though the 49ers’ running backs got plenty of chances to carry the ball throughout the season, Mostert’s numbers (178 carries for 1,050 yards and 12 TDs) stood out. If the 49ers win the Super Bowl, Mostert has a shot at winning the MVP award.

George Kittle | +1000

Usually, the team’s quarterback gets all the credit for big plays. But, Jimmy G doesn’t seem to get much love, or credit, when the Niners have a big game. On the other hand, George Kittle is always in the thick of things offensively.

George Kittle carries a ton of the 49ers’ offensive production; however, if he’s to win this year’s Super Bowl MVP award, he’ll need a big game with at least 150 receiving yards, a couple of touchdowns, and maybe a few blocks to his name.

But, will a tight end receive the MVP award? If history has a say, neither Kittle nor our next pick will be the Super Bowl MVP; in the 53-year history of the Super Bowl has a tight end received the award.

Travis Kelce | +1200

There isn’t any shortage of great wide receivers among the Chiefs’ ranks. But, tight end Travis Kelce is still Mahomes’ primary target.

We all saw how Kelce destroyed the Texans in the Chiefs’ comeback win for the divisional round championship game. Kelce hauled in ten receptions for 134 yards and three touchdowns.

Should Mahomes stumble in the game, Kelce might be a top pick for MVP if he pulls off another stellar performance.
