Love them or hate them, the New England Patriots have dominated NFL football in the last decade. Tom Brady and his Patriots are once more headed to the Super Bowl to face the Los Angeles Rams and decide who goes home with the title and bragging rights of being this year’s champion.

Why Bet on the Rams?
It may not be comforting to Rams fans that their loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl 36 kicked off the Brady/Belichick era. Regardless, they’re now getting another shot at changing the story and, in a sense, history.
The odds aren’t on their side though, and Los Angeles opened as the underdog in the big game. The Rams have shown incredible grit, however, and by no means can they be easily discounted as unable to beat the Patriots.
Think what you will of how they won the NFC Conference Championship game against the Saints, the fact is they won. And they did so having outscored the Saints 26-10 from the second quarter forward. The Rams also beat the Saints as a 3-point dog.
Jared Goff seems to have found his flow in the playoffs and has been pretty much mistake-free. Though he doesn’t shine as much as Brady, it’s clear he’s the leader this team needs to win Super Bowl LIII.
Why Bet on the Patriots?
The fact this is the Patriots’ third straight trip to the Super Bowl, might be reason enough to bank on New England to win.
However, the Patriots road to get here hasn’t exactly been a trip to the park. New England had to fight tooth and claw to defeat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, at one point being outscored by Kansas City 24-14 in the fourth quarter alone.
If not for winning the coin toss in overtime, perhaps this story might have turned out differently for the Patriots.
Even so, you have to respect how the Patriots seem to get better and better with each postseason game. New England heads into the Super Bowl riding a four-game winning streak that includes a blowout win against the Chargers in the divisional round.
The Patriots know how to get the job done. And, right now they’re working like a well-oiled machine with the only task of winning the Super Bowl and bringing the Vince Lombardi trophy back home with them for an incredible sixth time.
Prediction: I don’t expect this game to be a blowout win for the Pats. The score will likely be close until the game ends with neither team dominating. It makes an ATS bet a hard one to make because the game can go either way. The value could lie in the total; at 57.5, the over/under is as high as I’ve ever seen it. But, based on the offensive output of both teams, it isn’t outside of what they’ve been averaging in the postseason.
