UFC 245: Kamaru Usman vs. Colby Covington

  • When: Saturday, December 14, 2019.
  • Where: T-Mobile Arena
  • UFC Odds: Covington +145 vs. Usman -185

Usman vs. Covington

Analysis: There’s a beef to settle between these two, but this fight is orchestrated to play to the public’s hunger for the controversy surrounding this sport.

Covington has been poking bears with his comments, but he steps into the cage for this fight as the underdog with most people hoping for him to lose.

However, both fighters are evenly matched up, which makes it hard to make a pick for who’s going to win.

Usman appears to be the stronger fighter, but Covington could grind it out long enough to outwork him and get a surprise KO.

Pick: Usman via KO.

Max Holloway vs. Alexander Volkanovski

UFC Odds: Alexander Volkanovski +145 vs. Max Holloway -175

Analysis: This is an intriguing matchup. Holloway has been at this game for a long time despite being 28 years old. And, he’s spent a ton of time inside of the octagon.

Holloway isn’t afraid to trade punches. But, even if Holloway can dish out plenty of strikes, he also gets hit a ton. The champ averages 6.78 significant strikes landed per minute but receives an average of 4.29 significant strikes per minute.

Against a fighter like Volkanovski, who lands on average 6.11 significant strikes per minute, Holloway’s style of fighting could end up losing him the fight.

Pick: Holloway wins.

Amanda Nunes vs. Germaine de Randamie

UFC Odds: Germaine de Randamie +250 vs. Amanda Nunes -320

Analysis: There’s not much to hold onto if you’re banking on de Randamie to win this fight.

Nunes is at the peak of her career. Though de Randamie is better than when she lost against Nunes back in 2013, the champ is at another level now.

Don’t hope on de Germaine making it past the first round.

Pick: Amanda Nunes by KO.
